Climate Survey Conversations were held in Spring 2022 to discuss results of the departmental Climate Survey conducted in Spring 2021.

DIB Committee Co-Chairs, Liz Phelps and George Alvarez, along with Department Chair, Matt Nock, shared survey results with members of the community and asked for feedback in an effort to identify primary areas of focus going forward. Focus areas were identified as follows.

1. Diversifying our Faculty
2. Rebuilding Community after COVID-19
3. Implementing a Multi-Mentor Model for Graduate Students
4. Updating & Improving the Proseminar
5. Identifying Standards & Mechanisms for Reporting Incivility

The DIB Committee has been charged with taking next steps, and efforts to improve the Department in these areas of interest are already underway.

Questions or comments about the report or the climate conversations may be directed to Liz Phelps (<phelps@fas.harvard.edu>), George Alvarez (<alvarez@wjh.harvard.edu>), or Matt Nock (<nock@wjh.harvard.edu>).
