##### Title - **Early representations of possible objects**

###### Much research has examined early representations of objects that arise from visual input (what we might call *concrete object representations*). What is the structure of our early representations of objects whose existence or features are uncertain or merely possible (what we might call *possible object representations*)? In this talk, I will discuss some of my lab's recent work examining infants' and young children's representations of possible objects. I will argue that studying early representations of possible objects can give us novel insights into representations of objects more generally (both concrete and possible). I'll conclude by laying out some theoretical questions for future empirical and philosophical consideration.

**\*\*\*CBB and Social talks this semester will be meet on Thursdays, 12:00-1:15pm at NORTHWEST Bldg, B101 AUDITORIUM (due to the ongoing construction in WJH Plaza).\*\*\***
