Financial Aid and Research Support

Financial aid information is discussed briefly in the GSAS Handbook and on line at the GSAS web site.

Entering students are provided with fellowship packages which provide up to six years of tuition, three years of 10-month support, four summers of research fellowships, and the guarantee of a Teaching Fellowship for the third and fourth years. Should your advisor have grant funds, you may be supported as a Research Assistant in addition to, or as an alternative to, a Teaching Fellowship.

The Graduate Office alerts students to outside funding sources, and the Business Office is available by appointment to help students with federal grant applications. Students are encouraged to apply for all outside funds they may be eligible for, such as fellowships from NSF, the Department of Defense, and NIH. Students may be eligible for bonus awards from the graduate school upon receipt of outside fellowships.
