Welcome to the Department of Psychology!

New personnel are encouraged to take the following steps to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.

1. **Confirm your schedule** with your supervisor or PI.
2. **Pick up your Harvard ID (HUID) card**. To obtain your ID card, send a self-portrait with a white background (for your ID card image) to [id\_services@harvard.edu](mailto:id_services@harvard.edu). The following day, you can visit the Cambridge [ID Office](https://www.campusservicecenter.harvard.edu/contact) to pick up your card.
3. **Request building swipe access** for your HUID card. Swipe access will allow you access to Psychology spaces in evening or weekend hours if necessary. Swipe access may only be activated after you have your physical ID card in hand. Submit a request using our [HUID Swipe Access Request Form](https://forms.office.com/r/e9aWzAAk0v).
4. **Confirm that you have keys** to your designated lab or office space. If you do not have keys, contact your lab manager or PI, who can request keys for you via [PRESTO](https://oprp.fas.harvard.edu/presto-2).
5. **Sign up for the MRI Safety Class (if applicable).** Researchers must attend the MRI New Researcher Safety Class before gaining access to the Neuroimaging Facility. Email [Larry White](mailto:lawrence_white@fas.harvard.edu) to sign up for a class. Sign-up for the [CBSN mailing list](https://web.lists.fas.harvard.edu/mailman/lists/cbsn.lists.fas.harvard.edu/) to receive safety class and other CBS Neuroimaging announcements.
6. **Request Neuroimaging Facility Building Access (if applicable).** Email [Caroline West](mailto:wcwest@fas.harvard.edu) with your HUID number and verify that you have completed MRI safety training.
7. **Plan your commute to campus.** Update your Charlie Card or parking permit at [https://www.transportation.harvard.edu/](https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__harvard.us19.list-2Dmanage.com_track_click-3Fu-3D612b7478847050f88f68c2416-26id-3D7d8f0ec83e-26e-3D48b197bf3d&d=DwMFaQ&c=WO-RGvefibhHBZq3fL85hQ&r=qs9oor8Mu4uFYaw3NygblddcqrphPFoTHNSqe-jKlFs&m=omGYIaZp9K5KBZX8k7zKKjrZ1qr3zFuuSQHVdU2TiAA&s=hAVi36zLITKTJKOdVKgWNDcddr34wE65dqlvLR7hAHI&e=).
