Kylie (Kexin) Li is a post-doctoral research fellow who joined the Nock Lab in November 2024. She received her undergraduate degree double majoring in Psychology and Asian Studies at the University of California at Berkeley. She completed her PsyD in Clinical Psychology at Baylor University, where she received extensive clinical training working with adult clients across various outpatient and residential settings. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia Irving Medical Center. As a graduate student, Kylie’s research involved mixed-methods projects on bioethics, parenting, adolescent substance use and externalizing behaviors, and leveraging mobile health technology to expand access to mental health care. Kylie has an academic interest in the interplay between culture and the theory and treatment of mental illness, as well as a clinical interest pertaining to suicide, trauma, eating disorders and health psychology across diverse populations. Kylie’s present work in the Nock Lab centers on qualitative research as part of the World Mental Health Surveys Initiative. She seeks to integrate clinical insights and multi-disciplinary perspectives to inform understanding of mental health care and suicide risk across sociocultural systems.
