Nessa Bryce

Nessa Bryce is a PhD candidate in the clinical psychology program. She is interested in examining how childhood experiences, particularly traumatic ones, shape our brains and thus how we understand and interact with the world around us. Specifically, she is interested in exploring if/how the maturation of the default mode network -- a primary network in the brain -- is impacted by traumatic experiences and how those changes may predispose individuals to mental heath challenges later in life. While by day Nessa wears her science cap, by night she picks up her paint brushes and ventures into the world of art and illustration.
