Buckholtz and Cikara Selected as APS Rising Stars

December 23, 2015
Professors Joshua Buckholtz and Mina Cikara were selected as Rising Stars for 2015 for the Association for Psychological Science (APS).
The Rising Star designation recognizes outstanding psychological scientists in the earliest stages of their research career post-PhD whose innovative work has already advanced the field and signals great potential for their continued contributions.
Buckholtz studies brain circuits involved in legal decision making and the mechanisms underlying self-control failures in psychopathy and impulsivity.  Cikara, in prejudice, social neuroscience, social policy, and psychometrics, discovered intergroup schadenfreude and dehumanization of sexualized women.
