Congratulations to Grant Jones on receiving competitive research grants from the Mind & Life Institute ($19,970) and the Harvard Culture Lab Innovation Fund ($20,000) for his research using music-based mindfulness interventions to reduce stress/anxiety in Black Americans in the community and at Harvard (see this video description of the latter project). Grant is the Lead Researcher/Artist on these exciting new projects, which are co-mentored by Grammy Award-Winning Professor Esperanza Spalding. For more on Grant’s music, check out his recently released Sophomore EP, Constellations. In addition to studying the healing effects of music-based mindfulness meditation, Grant’s research also is focused on advancing understanding of the associations between psychedelics and positive mental health outcomes. Grant is a 2021 recipient of the Ford Fellowship from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Congratulations, Grant!
